I believe that to achieve maximum results, one should choose exercises that use more muscle groups than one (unless sports specific or body building). This discipline increases your heart rate, while conditioning your muscles, which helps to burn fat. The common misconception in training is that people think they need just fixed resistance gym machines to train.

In order to get maximum body tone you need to challenge the body with different exercise angles and workouts. You must maximise the bodies’ full range of motion as much as you can, with or without resistance. For example; most gym equipment is designed to only give you forward movement, this limits the body’ natural rotation capabilities.
